User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars The best truly multi-lingual frame with a bright screen
This picture frame, although not perfect, is the best one among such names as Sony, Philips, and others I researched.

Its esthetics is superb. The black and white adds to picture’s brightness. The finish is suitable for a wall and desktop applications. For people not fond of this looks, this unit comes with other inserts that go under the black, completely removable frame. Thus your can create your own finish!

The technology is very good. The pictures look much, much better then in Sony’s products. The additional features in Sony’s products don’t make up for the difference. If only the Kodak’s menu could be easier then the competition’s, too…

Finally, the languages and world-wide power adapter (without plug converters) seals this as the best overall product. It seems to speak all languages of the Americas, Europe, and then some.

All in all, great product. If not for the (on par with competition) menus this product would get 5 stars.

5 Stars Better than the rest
Super easy to use and the picture quality far exceeds the other 10″ I own and those I compared it to. ++++

2 Stars Clunky interface, shuffle feature not working, more…
So using amazons ratings as a good starting point for purchasing this frame i picked it up. I soon realized once open that the internal 128MB was worthless. I purchased (2) 4GB USB sticks to make compatibility as easy as possible for this was a gift for my 65 year old mother. I found the TOUCH interface clunky. I dread having to explain how this functions to my Mother after she receives it on the holiday. The interface is particularly unuser friendly wanting to default to the limited 128MB internal memory each time its started instead of defaulting to the USB card i have left inserted. For those of you who like TOUCH interfaces, this is no IPHONE or IPOD. The SHUFFLE feature does not work – this randomization of photos is most likely the #1 feature you could want on a device like this. Kodaks website – the software updates do not have release dates which makes if much more difficult to know if you are going to benefit from a particular download, especially for the non tech type persons out there. When wondering how to change the duration for each photo that was displayed for more then 5 seconds (default) the printed manual referred me to the “extended manual” located on kodaks website. The 1/4″ non-extended kodak manual became worthless pretty fast though in typical Kodak fashion it was in seven languages. It’s going to take some time to see how my retirement age parents are able to enjoy it. Another huge Kodak marketing misrepresentation. On the cover and the back they show two different people holding the frame as if it is cordless. With the impression that it can be easily passed around from person to person in a room. With the 6′ cord tethering you to the frame this will be much more difficult then imagined while purchasing. No option for the frame to even run on a battery source. I’ve waited a few years for the prices to come down on these digital frames. It seems the software is still at 1.0 though, with the SHUFFLE feature the one thing that disappoints me the most. Every time the frame is started you have to start in order and you do get tired of having to see the same photos each time the frame is started. The color, brightness and contrast are very nice and the mat looks real enough and is apparently swappable. Also the Kodak chat feature for tech support was not open to answer my questions even though the site advertises 24/7 7 day a week chat support. Its an amazing technology that needs a few tweaks yet. Buyer beware. I’m having to give it 2 stars counter 3.5 it’s currently averaging, though it could be 4 quickly with better software and more accurate marketing by Kodak.

4 Stars Excellent Product!
I purchased this product as a Christmas gift for my son in the Navy, and I received it on a timely basis, in perfect condition. I loaded 1gb worth of pictures and music onto a memory card and popped it into the frame so that as soon as it was turned on, it would begin playing the slideshow of pictures, in date order, against a background of music of my choosing, perfect! I can now configure new memory cards with additional slideshows and music in the future, and just send that to my son so he can plug it in and see the new pictures!

3 Stars Good but can be improved
Delivered before scheduled.

Nice packaging

Worked immediately.

The user interface is a bit unfriendly.

1 Star Do not purchase!
It is really unbelievable to me what a terrible product this is. I am on my second frame because I thought the first one was defective, but I am having the same issues with this one as well. It is EXTREMELY slow, many times not responding to the remote at all. Either the frame freezes or the screen turns black. The only button that works 100% of the time is the on/off button. It takes at least 10 tries to actually connect with kodak gallery to display pictures I have online. I really wanted this frame in particular because I have TONS of photos on kodak gallery, but it is much more effort to get it to work than it’s worth. It’s a nice idea, but Kodak needs to go back to the drawing board on this one . . . .

1 Star OK frame – Bad Service with Kodak Gallery wifi
This was a good frame until kodakgallery started charging for photo storage. If you plan on using the wifi feature, skip this frame and go with one that syncs with flickr.

1) The Ex-811 will let you connect ONLY to kodakgallery.com

2) kodakgallery.com now charges $5 per year to store photos.

I bought this & set it up at a relatives house out of state. Whenever & where ever I, or other family members, feel compelled, we upload photos to kodakgallery.com & then, like magic, they show up on the frame. Its a great way to connect our family members & share photos with people who live all over the country. I realize $5 isn’t much, however I feel the photo storage should be included as a part of the purchase price of the frame – for this reason alone I gave it 1 star.

No one charges for photo storage & Kodak Gallery has been free, but as of May 2009 they will implement the “$5+ per year or deletion policy”.

1 Star The Kodak brand is now a liability
Many digital frames are now available. In searching for a frame as a gift for elderly parents, I decided to purchase a “reliable” brand rather than a newer entrant into the market. I wanted to minimize any problems and was more than willing to pay pay a premium to ensure low-effort, high-enjoyment for my parents. Granted, George Eastman’s legacy is film, not electronics – but this is the 21st century, isn’t it?

If you simply want an frame to display digital pictures from a flash memory card, this unit will work fine. The picture quality is certainly acceptable. However, you will be overpaying by about 2x. The wireless connectivy with the Kodak Gallery is absolutely unreliable and unusable. You could get a frame without wireless capability with 2x the display area for the same cost.

I wanted a frame that would allow me to send pictures electronically (didn’t care how: web based, email, etc.) to my parents living on the opposite coast for immediate display (or even “almost-immediate” – within 24 hours – refresh). Kodak claims that with their Kodak Gallery web site, with proper setup one can upload pictures to private/shared areas and the frame will automatically be notified and download and display the pictures. And (at the time) there were no fees or subscription required (compared to the original Ceiva frame, for example, which required yearly fees). Of course, I expected that this would function without a full-time IT support staff.

As it turned out, the frame’s wireless capability is terrible. I am a computer/network professional. I had no problem setting up the frame to connect to the wireless network. Upgrading the firmware was simple. Pictures from the SD memory card displayed correctly on the screen. However, the wireless connection is totally unreliable. It is not the wireless network as it is stable and the WAP is 10 feet from the frame. I contacted Kodak support, and it was a terrible experience. After going through the scripted questions and rote responses, struggling to educate the 3rd-world support personnel, waiting for return calls that were promised and didn’t happen, and interminable hold times, I was finally “allowed” to call a “technical specialist” in the US. At that time I was told that unless I was using a wireless router from an approved list, I would not be supported – so I purchased an approved router. Still the same problem. Then the “specialist” said there was a problem with the Kodak web site and I’d have to wait a week for it to be repaired. Two weeks later and still the same problems. I was finally given a RMA number to return the frame for repair. Three weeks later I received the frame, with a note from the “authorized repair facility”. Along with the (same) frame there was a note included stating that they had tested the unit with a memory card, checked the display, and tested to be sure the unit would establish a wireless connection. No malfunction found. They had not even tested the ability to automatically view pictures uploaded remotely to the Kodak Gallery. I don’t know if they bothered to read the very specific description I included with the frame, but I doubt it.

I’ve given up with this item. It is now functioning as a 2x overpriced flash-memory reader with 1/2 the display size. I send a new SD card through USPS Mail every so often with new pictures. Kodak has also now changed their policies regarding storage space on the Kodak Gallery – you have to purchase a minimum amount of product from the site to avoid having your pictures deleted.

Bottom line: the Kodak brand, in my experience and opinion, is a liablity, not something that warrants a premium price. Support is terrible, product does not function as advertised, and this was a waste of my time. I can’t think of any reason to purchase this item and highly recommend against it. If you want wireless picture display this will not work; if you want flash-memory picture display many other, larger, less expensive options abound.

2 Stars Unfulfilled Potential
The concept of a wireless photo frame (EX811) has the potential to simplify the process of refreshing the pictures on a photo frame. Most people already upload pictures from a digital camera onto a computer. What if you could simply drag the pictures into a folder on your computer where the frame is “watching” via WiFi. Nice!! No fumbling with memory cards and waiting for the files to transfer. So what’s the problem? Well apparently the picture frame couldn’t be made smart enough to remember what computer and share drive you want it to view when you power on the frame. I mean it remembers your network name and encryption keys but they couldn’t afford one extra bit of data to say “start” here. Instead it reads pictures from internal memory at start-up. So I’ll just leave it on all the time. Right? Wrong!! You see it grabs all the picture at the start of the slideshow and it doesn’t appear to ever go back for more. In addition, it struggles if the folder has a large number of photos. They couldn’t grab some at random periodically. It restarts on its own periodically when it drops its network connection. After mashing on the remote for a couple of hours, I decided that it would be easier and more reliable to fumble with a memory card. In conclussion, my advice is to skip the WiFi features for now. Eventually a manufacturer will focus on how people will try to use the frame. For now they seem content to just stamp “WiFi” on the front of the box.

1 Star Junk!
I expected more from Kodak. The stand on the back of the frame is flimsy and the frame keeps falling over. Also, its operation was quirky out of the box.

I own some off brands that are better than this.

Stay away.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Very Nice DigiFrame
Excellent picture quality, pretty intuitive icons and navigation (the “touch frame” system is excellent, as you do not have to touch the screen at all). Also holds TONS of high-res photos in internal memory.

My only gripe is that the frame tends to chop off portions of larger (1-2mb) photo files. The “random” view mode, which is supposed to shuffle the photos, tends to shuffle them in the exact same order every time I turn the frame on, which I use every day at my office. Same applies when I create a slide show. I wish that the shuffle feature would work better.

Overall, an EXCELLENT product from Kodak. I have also bought one for a friend, and no complaints. A great gift idea.

1 Star Horrible product!! There is nothing easy about it.
Very disappointing for a Kodak product. Loading the pics was a challenge. However, in all fairness, the images were good once we finally got them on the frame. Touch screen does not work as well as advertised (freezes/limited functionality). Audio playback advertised as a feature but it took three days to get songs on and then they weren’t the ones we selected. No support – SIX attempts to contact Kodak for assistance failed!!!!!!!!!! Users guide is useless (majority of the booklet is repeating the same minimal instructions in other languages). We are returning the unit. Rated one star but would prefer to chose 0 stars if that was an option.

5 Stars Pleased with the kodak frame
I like this frame. I like that it comes from a brand name I know. I like the onscreen menu. Thank goodness I don’t have to have another remote to keep track of.

I read some negative reviews from other owners however, I can not find much to be negative about. Some wrote the that software should not be used because it changed all the photo’s to a smaller resolution/kb size. I did not have this problem. I did not allow the software to automatically scan for any photos. I waited until after it was installed to manually select photos. Once I selected 100 photos (that is not the limit) I transfered them to a memory card and plugged it into the frame. Selected the card from the on-screen menu and it went right into display mode. I even put a few short movies on it.

The only draw back I find is not having an auto time off and on software function. The speakers produce alot of high frequencies(tinny like) but, come on, these are small speakers in the rear. I don’t expect great sound.

No reliablity issues, it’s been running great.

5 Stars Excellent colors
As a photographer I spent a lot of time looking for frames that would accurately display the colors in my photos. This one just blew me away. Even with resolutions lower than many other frames, this one is the best bang for the buck. I’m sticking with Kodak frames due to their excellent image reproduction. I purchased a bulk of these and have been giving them to clients as a gift.

1 Star Disappointing
I received this as a gift, but it was defective, so I have sent it back. It would turn on, but the touch panel didn’t work at all, and I couldn’t even get the on/off switch to work to turn it off. I haven’t decided whether I shall get a replacement, or look for another brand.

Kodak is primarily known for producing quality films and photograph that capture our smiles and tender moments, so it’s no big surprise that Kodak ventured with camera business. Starting out with analog or conventional cameras, they finally followed suit with their line of Kodak digital cameras.

The Kodak easy Share one is one of the best and handiest Kodak digital cameras. Only about 0 the Kodak easy Share one is one of the first new series of Kodak digital cameras supports wireless sharing of your photos. This Kodak digital camera supports the Kodak Wi-Fi card.

The owner of the camera  will enable to instantly use basic web browser in sending images directly to Kodak’s online storage and printing service, using the Wi-Fi card . The fold out touch screen display comes with menu buttons which helps users customize their camera settings or edit their images. As with the Kodak digital cameras, the easy Share one comes with a Kodak Easy Share program that further makes it easier for file transferring and editing of your images.

Personally, I would recommend the Kodak dx7590. This was my ultimate dream Kodak digital camera. It is a 5 mega pixel Kodak digital camera with 10x optical zoom of a professional quality Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon lens. One of the Kodak digital cameras that have the exclusive Kodak color science Image processing chip is the dx7590 . This Kodak digital camera is furnished with a 2.2 inch high resolution indoor/outdoor display and to check out all those amazing photos you’ve captured.

This amazing Kodak digital camera using an SD card (that you have to buy separately) lets you store pictures up to 128 MB. For recharging your batteries or transferring your photos to and from your computer, this dx 7590 comes with the Kodak easy share camera dock 6000. The best thing about the Kodak dx7590, this Kodak digital camera is only around 0. An almost professional camera for the price of a lower end camera.
