Not too long ago, most couples getting married didn’t know anything about digital wedding photography and chose wedding photographers that used different types of rolled film and cameras to take their wedding photographs. Today, digital cameras are the most used type of camera for wedding photography and many photographers have learned a number of digital wedding photography tips to make the wedding photographs turn out perfectly. There are a few reasons why digital wedding photography has become so important for wedding photography and why many people are choosing digital photographs for their wedding pictures today.
The Number Of Photographs That Can Be Taken
Many people choose digital wedding photography over using film for their photography session because the photographer can take many photographs using a digital camera without wasting any film. Digital cameras use memory cards to save the photographs taken by the camera and, depending on the size of the memory card, hundreds of photographs can be taken without having to replace the memory card. This gives the wedding couple many more poses and backgrounds to choose from for their wedding photo album without incurring any additional costs.
Another benefit of digital wedding photography is that the photographs taken do not have to be developed to see what they look like in print. All varieties of digital cameras have a viewing screen that allows the photographer and the couple to see what the photograph looks like after being taken or the photographs can be uploaded to a computer to be reviewed later on a larger screen. If the couple does not like the photograph that was taken, the photograph can be deleted with the push of a button.
Ability To Edit The Photographs
It is very easy to edit and clean up photographs taken with digital wedding photography. Many photographers that practice digital wedding photography use a computer to download the photographs directly to a computer for editing with a computer program that is specially designed for quality photo editing. There are many things that can be done with digital wedding photography through a good photography computer program, such as cleaning up the images, altering the focus of the photograph, and even making small changes to create a more beautiful photograph. The images obtained by digital wedding photography will create a lovely wedding photograph album for the happy couple which will be treasured for many years after the wedding ceremony.

One of the most common ways to take a picture is a portrait. Portraits are when you have the subject framed in a shot.Since it is such a regular way of doing it people are used to seeing variety. But if you try and use a little more creativity you can make the average shots so much better. With this article I would like to share with you some things you can do to make them better.
First thing you will want is maybe having the perspective of the shot from a different angle. What I am referring to is to have the photo taken in a different way not the normal way people would do it. You can change where the picture is coming from. This is helpful in my San Diego wedding photographer business.People are so familiar with all the standard photos and poses that when you do something different by changing it up a little bit it makes a world of difference.Take some photos you take from a higher angle. Or you can take a common photo and get low to the ground and shoot up.it can make such a difference in the way the picture looks.
Another good photography is playing with the eyes. Most photos are taken with the subject looking into the camera. But where the subject’s eyes are will really impact the look of the photo. What you might want to do is getting the subject to look away from the camera. This really gives the photo a different look and feel to it. Doing a lot of San Diego event photography I have my subjects do this all the time.
Another thing you can do is have the subject look at something within the frame. This is extremely effective when you are trying to promote something. You can have the subject staring at the product you are advertising. This is a trick that I do a lot as a San Diego corporate photographer. It makes a huge difference by centering the attention onto the product.
So those were some ways that you can take a photo that people are used to one way and changing it for the better.

Either you are an amateur or professional at photography you should still want to imporve your skills.Because every photo that you shoot is a unique moment in time. And since they are unique then you might as well make it a good shot. So, with that in mind, here are some tips on how to improve your skills on photography.
Well in my practice as a San Diego wedding photographer I do many weddings. And weddings are very important events. This is a day where there would be lots of joyful moments. But it can also bring a lot of stress and pressure. And one stressful job to have is to nicely capture the happy moments during that day.And you should want to immortalize the events during that day.And you can only do that if you can get better at photography.
One of those ways to get better is to practice. And what I mean by practice is you should practice at an event where you are not paid. No, you should practice taking photos of weddings you don’t have pay in. That way you can be creative and really go all out. I have done this many times as a San Diego photographer.Of course you can’t take any shots you want with the bride and groom unless you know them since you are not the hired photographer. But you can still take great shots from that event.
Another way of improving your photography skills is by entering and joining a photography competition.Nothing compares to bringing out one’s competitive juices by joining competitions. These competitions are a great venue to try and do your best. And after the competition what’s good is that you can compare your work to other’s work . Doing San Diego event photography this has helped me see where I need to improve in as well as see my strengths. Plus if you win you should win a nice prize.
So there goes some of the ways you can improve your photography skills. As a professional your goal should be to become the best at the profession or hobby you have taken.

We used to do ‘DPS community workshops’ fairly regularly but it’s been a while – so lets recap on what they are.
- A reader asks a question about a photographic challenge that they have – I share it here on the blog.
- Readers are invited to read the question and give some advice to the reader asking it.
- Together we learn something about a particular aspect of photography by reading all the answers.
See some previous ones on the topics of photographing funerals, travel, cricket, Grandma in hospital and Fashion Shows.
Got the idea? OK – lets do one.
How do I Photograph a Gymnastics Event?
This workshop’s question comes from a reader by the name of Brent who asks:
“I’ve just been approached to photograph a regional gymnastics finals event – next week! I’ve taken shots of my daughter at gymnastics before but this time I’m THE official photographer for the whole event. The previous Pro that they had lined up got sick and had to withdraw so it’s all very last minute.
OK – it is no Olympics trial or anything – it’s just a regional event for kids – but I want to do my best and need some help. Do you have any advice?”
Brent tells me that he’ll be shooting with a Canon 5D (Mark II) and a 70-200mm f/2.8 IS lens as his primary lens (he has a few others that he’ll take but that’s what he’s planning on using primarily.
What would you advise Brent?
